What is Boardhandling- and Traceability equipment?

We realize that when you are not working in the electronics industry you will not have any idea what our equipment is designed for. So therefore we will try to explain this to you in a nutshell.

Basically these machines control the flow of “Printed Circuit Boards”  (PCB) in an automatic assembly line. Such a line normally consists out of the following process steps;

1) Screen printing, here automatically conductive past is applied to the pads on where later components will be placed using a squeegee.

2) Component placement, this is a robotic machine capable to place “surface mount components” as for example  resistors, IC’s and diode’s  in the previous applied paste at high speeds.

3) Reflow oven, here the conductive paste is heated to solder the component on the pad providing an electrical connection.

4) Automatic optical inspection, where a camera checks the presence of components and quality of the soldering.

>> Our boardhandling is used to connect-up all these processes in a production line to avoid manual handling of the PCB’s and achieving a highest possible  throughput of the line. Below you find a lay-out drawing of a typical PCB assembly line.

 

Traceability equipment; 

Is used for product identification in case of malfunctioning or repair. Our machines are able to apply a barcode-label or use a CO2 laser to etch a code directly onto the PCB surface. Throughout the production line the code is captured by readers allowing the customer to store data of the  specific PCB on his database.
